HANOI, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's private sector should strive to target a contribution of approximately 70 percent to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam said in an article published Monday.
The Party chief emphasized the pivotal role of private economies as a "lever" for building a prosperous Vietnam, urging businesses to enhance their global competitiveness, master core technologies, and deepen integration into international value chains and supply chains.
Currently, Vietnam's private sector contributes about 51 percent of the GDP and more than 30 percent of the state budget, according to data cited in the article. ■
