The Hang Seng Index opened at 23,987.09 points, up 392.88 points, or 1.67 percent.
The S&P/ASX 200 index opened at 8,095.60 points, down 45.50 points, or 0.56 percent.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average opened at 37,654.95 points, up 236.71 points, or 0.63 percent.
The Straits Times Index opened at 3,915.64 points, up 17.24 points, or 0.44 percent.
