China is confident in its economy and won't back down from trade tensions with the U.S., The New York Times said in a report on its takeaways from the ongoing "two sessions."

Beijing will plow ahead with an economy that is "resilient to pressure and coercion from the U.S.," Jude Blanchette, director of the RAND China Research Center, was quoted as saying.
