KATHMANDU, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Nepal Police collected 524.7 million rupees in fines in the first seven months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year.
Among the fines, 239.29 million rupees were received through the implementation of court orders, in which 3,264 people were convicted, the police said in a recent report.
Between mid-July to mid-February, 162.72 million rupees were raised from smugglers of goods, while 9.59 million rupees were paid by violators of traffic rules. (1 U.S. dollar amounts to 139.24 rupees) ■
