NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 19:54:09 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 108.1 km, was initially determined to be at 56.31 degrees south latitude and 27.20 degrees west longitude. ■
