MADRID, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) --If a building is frozen music, then Spain is a world of symphonies. From the towering mountains to the blue coast, the architecture of this land is as bright as the sun, as tough as stone, and exudes a unique artistic flavor.

When the first morning light fall on the dome of the Alhambra, time seems to stop at that moment. The architectural wisdom of the Moors is on full display in this palace. Curves and geometric patterns intertwine, halal words and floral inlays, and sunlight streams through the carved wooden panes and onto the colorful tiled floor. The palace is not only a symbol of power, but also a blend of cultures, where Islamic art and natural beauty coexist in harmony, like a timeless poem.

Further south, Seville is the pinnacle of the intersection of Gothic and Islamic architecture. The city bears witness to the splendor of the Age of Sail and conveys the power of faith. Climbing up to the Giralda Tower and overlooking the whole city, the white walls and red tiles of Andalusia are in full view, as if going back to the distant Middle Ages.

In the Spanish countryside, the white villages are another style statement. From the windmills of Don Quixote to the blue window frames and colorful flower pots dotting the courtyards of Cordoba, the Spanish countryside is quiet and romantic. These villages continue centuries-old architectural traditions and demonstrate the harmony between man and nature.

Travelling further north to Barcelona, Gaudi's work adds a touch of fairytale color to Spanish architecture. The Sagrada Familia, like a giant tree growing towards the sky, has stone as its skeleton and stained-glass as its veins. Inside the church, the sun shines through the colored windows, shedding colorful light and shadow, as if the secrets of the universe were condensed here. Gaudi used natural lines to break the traditional architecture of the regular, so that people seem to be in a dream world, lost in the symphony of shape and color. The city of Barcelona contains Gaudi's lifelong talent.

Spanish architecture is a poem written in stone, sunshine and history. From Moorish palaces to Gothic churches, from Gaudi's whimsical ideas to the white walls and blue windows of the countryside, every building speaks of the unique temperament of this land. They are the witnesses of time and the inheritors of culture, standing eternally with the Spanish people's infinite pursuit of beauty through the years.
