RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Santos has signed winger Gabriel Veron on a season-long loan from Porto, the Brazilian Serie A side said on Tuesday.
Veron completed a medical and could make his debut in a home clash against Botafogo-SP on Wednesday after he was officially registered as a Santos player by the Brazilian Football Confederation.
"Gabriel Veron is another addition to Santos for the 2025 season," the club said in a statement, adding that it had an option to secure the 22-year-old on a permanent deal when his loan expires.
Veron joined Porto in July 2022 but has made just 26 first-team appearances for the Portuguese club.
He spent last season on loan at Cruzeiro, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 27 Brazilian Serie A matches.
Veron is the third attacking player signed by Santos in the past month, joining Neymar and Tiquinho Soares. ■
