TOKYO, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 struck the Kyushu region in Japan, the weather agency said Monday.

A tsunami warning has been issued for Miyazaki Prefecture and Koichi Prefecture as a result of this temblor, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. ■
