The sixth edition of the Maasai Olympics, also known as the Maasai Games, took place Saturday at the Kimana Sanctuary in Kenya's Amboseli National Park.
KAJIADO, Kenya, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- The sixth edition of the Maasai Olympics, also known as the Maasai Games, took place Saturday at the Kimana Sanctuary in Kenya's Amboseli National Park. Participants from four major Manyattas (villages) displayed their talents in various athletic competitions, including javelin throwing, rungu throwing, and the unique Maasai high jump. The biennial event not only honors Maasai traditions but also fosters a sense of community and competition among warriors from across the ecosystem.
