BEIRUT, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese Civil Defense, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, rescued on Friday 60 citizens trapped in snow inside their trucks and vehicles on the Ainata-al-Arz road in northern Lebanon.
According to Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA), the Civil Defense personnel were keen to ensure the citizens were in good health and towed their 15 vehicles to continue their journey safely.
The Directorate of the Civil Defense has warned citizens against taking the road for safety concerns, the NNA said.
The competent security authorities have also worked to close the road in both directions, and asked citizens not to take the road, it said. ■
