1. Nets waived Cui Yongxi following a trade with the warriors
The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on forward Cui Yongxi following a trade with the Golden State Warriors.
The Nets have acquired two-way guard Reece Beekman from the Warriors, and with NBA rules capping teams at three two-way players, the Nets opted to release Cui, prioritizing his recovery following a season-ending injury.
The injury occurred during a Dec. 12 game for the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn's NBA G League affiliate, where Cui landed awkwardly while contesting a rebound. Subsequent tests confirmed a torn ACL in his left knee, ruling him out for the season.
Cui, 21, signed a two-way contract with the Nets in late September and appeared in five NBA regular-season games, averaging 0.6 points and 0.4 rebounds in 2.1 minutes per game.
2. China bags three titles at BWF World Tour Finals

China claimed gold in the men's 5,000m relay on December 15, the final day of the Short Track Speed Skating World Tour in Seoul.
The gold-medal lineup featured Li Wenlong, Liu Shaoang, Liu Shaolin and Sun Long, who showcased outstanding teamwork and delivered a winning time of six minutes and 53.654 seconds, defeating Japan and South Korea in a closely fought race.
4. Zheng Qinwen named Fan Favorite Singles player in the 2024 Fan Awards
