BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- A 7.2-magnitude earthquake jolted Vanuatu Islands at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 17.75 degrees south latitude and 167.95 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 30 km, said a report issued by the CENC. ■
