RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Renato Portaluppi is among the frontrunners to fill the vacant managerial position at Vasco da Gama, according to media reports in Brazil.
Vasco has been seeking a new manager since sacking Rafael Paiva in November amid a bad sequence of results.
Renato is searching for a new club after parting ways with Gremio following a 3-0 home defeat to Corinthians in the last day of the Brazilian Serie A season.
The 62-year-old has had two spells in charge of Vasco - from 2005 to 2007 and in 2008.
Vasco finished the 2024 Brazilian top-flight season in 10th place, 29 points behind champion Botafogo. ■
