NEW DELHI, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- India on Monday appointed Sanjay Malhotra as the new governor of its central bank - Reserve Bank of India (RBI), officials said.
The announcement was made in a notification issued by the government's cabinet appointments committee, which has approved Malhotra's appointment for a period of three years from Dec. 11.
He will take over from Shaktikanta Das, whose six-year term will conclude on Tuesday. ■
