NEW YORK, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.57 percent to 105.711 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.0587 U.S. dollars from 1.0514 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.2757 U.S. dollars from 1.2700 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 150.02 Japanese yen, lower than 150.44 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8781 Swiss francs from 0.8841 Swiss francs, and it dropped to 1.4028 Canadian dollars from 1.4064 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.8514 Swedish kronor from 10.9290 Swedish kronor. ■
