BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- A 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit near coast of Northern California, the United States, at 2:44 a.m. Friday (Beijing Time), said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 40.40 degrees north latitude and 125 degrees west longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 10 km, said the CENC. ■
