AMMAN, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan said on Tuesday that Jordan and Poland are committed to pursuing peace and stability in the region.
The king made the remarks in talks with visiting Polish President Andrzej Duda, during which the king stressed the need to step up international efforts to stop the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon, according to a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court.
During the talks, the king said Duda's visit exemplifies the strong and distinguished relations between the two countries in several sectors, and is an opportunity to enhance these relations.
He expressed keenness to deepen coordination and cooperation between the two countries on various issues of mutual concern.
The Polish president said he is pleased to visit Jordan to discuss bilateral relations and developments in the region and the world, stressing that the king is "a very significant figure in establishing stability in the Middle East." ■
