BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

NEW ORDERS

China's independently-developed AS700 civil manned airship has secured 10 more purchase orders, ready for commercial operations, according to its developer -- the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) on Tuesday.

The total number of booked orders for AS700 has reached 23, said the aircraft maker at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China, in the port city of Zhuhai in Guangdong Province, south China.

DARK MATTER

An international team led by Chinese scientists has employed cutting-edge quantum technology in a direct quest for the universe's most elusive matter, an extraordinary endeavor that has significantly advanced detection capabilities.

In the vast expanse of the universe, visible matter, ranging in size from the tiniest speck of dust to massive celestial bodies like Earth, even whole galaxies, constitutes only about 5 percent of the total mass of the cosmos. The remaining 95 percent is believed to be comprised of dark matter and dark energy.

SATELLITE INTERNET

Chinese private rocket company LandSpace is showing that the sky is no limit in rocket research and development, as it is playing a pivotal role in advancing China's satellite internet constellation, a key component in the global space-based internet race.

China launched the first 18 satellites of the Spacesail Constellation in August from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, north China; a milestone in the country's efforts to build a global satellite internet network.
