HANOI, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's domestically-assembled car sales in October surpassed imported cars', Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday, citing the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Domestically-assembled cars reported an 8 percent increase in consumption with 21,113 cars sold in October while imported cars rose 3 percent in consumption with 17,648 cars sold.
The surging sales of domestically-assembled cars were attributed to their advantages in prices, financial incentives and the 50 percent registration fee reduction which has been applied in three months from September to November, according to Vietnam News Agency.
Vietnam reported 38,761 cars sold in October, an increase of 6 percent compared to September and 53 percent compared to the same period last year, said the association. ■
