MADRID, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid returned to winning ways on Saturday in La Liga with a 4-0 triumph at home to Osasuna that moves it to within six points of leader FC Barcelona.

Vinicius Jr led Madrid's win with a hat-trick, while Jude Bellingham scored the second of the day as he lobbed home after getting into the end of a long clearance.

Vinicius opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a trademark run and shot, while his second and third goals came in the second half as Real Madrid took advantage of Osasuna's high defensive line.

The win came at a heavy price, however, with full back Lucas Vazquez and forward Rodrygo suffering muscle injuries, while central defender Eder Militao had to be carried off with a serious knee injury.

Barcelona can restore its nine-point lead if it wins away to Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Villarreal remains third after a 3-0 win at home to Alaves, which was given extra sheen by two goals in the last 10 minutes.

Ilias Akhomach opened the scoring with a lovely turn and left-footed shot into the far corner of the net in the 38th minute.

The game was in the balance until Dani Parejo doubled the lead from the penalty spot and Santi Comesana finished off another flowing move in the last minute. The bad news for Villarreal was that goalscorer Akhomach was carried off with a knee injury on the stroke of halftime.

Miguel de la Fuente's 82nd-minute penalty gave Leganes three vital points in a 1-0 win at home to Sevilla, who ended up with 10 men after Lucien Agoume was shown a direct red card for committing the spot kick that decided a very close match. Leganes has taken 10 from its 14 points this season in its Butarque Stadium. Jesus Navas made his 700th appearance for Sevilla in the match.

On Friday night, Rayo Vallecano had 64 percent of the ball and managed 34 shots, but still lost 3-1 at home to Las Palmas, with Rayo's goal an own goal in injury time.

A header from Fabio Silva in the first half, followed by Aridane's 62nd-minute own goal and Manu Fuster's goal five minutes later, gave Las Palmas its third win in four matches under Diego Martinez's guidance.
