DAMASCUS, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli airstrike targeted the industrial area of Al-Qusayr city in central Syria's Homs province on Tuesday, causing material damage, Syrian state television reported.
The strike also hit some residential buildings surrounding the industrial zone, according to the state media.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Ramez Saadeh, head of the Al-Qusayr City Council, confirmed that the attack caused material damage to the industrial facilities in the area, without specifying the extent of the damage.
Saadeh said efforts were underway to assess the impact.
The Israeli side has yet to comment on the strike.
Israeli military strikes on Syria have increased recently, primarily targeting what it says are arms shipments and military infrastructure linked to Iran and Hezbollah, its regional foes. ■
