DAMASCUS, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli airstrike on Thursday targeted an industrial area and several residential neighborhoods in al-Qusayr, a city in the countryside of central Syria's Homs province, Syrian state media reported.
Initial reports indicated that the strike led to injuries among civilians and caused material damage, the official news agency SANA reported, adding the details of the casualties remain unclear.
The Israeli side has yet to comment on the attack.
The Israeli military has intensified strikes on Syria, targeting locations allegedly used by Iranian and Hezbollah-linked militias operating in the country.
Syria has repeatedly condemned these attacks, calling them violations of its sovereignty. ■
