RAMALLAH, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Three Palestinians, including a local Hamas leader, were killed in Israeli bombardment and gunfire in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm, Palestinian sources said on Thursday.

An Israeli drone attack killed two Palestinians in Nur Shams refugee camp, the Ramallah-based Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement, without providing further details about the incident.

Palestinian medical sources told Xinhua that Ahmed Fahmawi, 18, and Abdul-Aziz Abu Saman, 22, were killed during the attack.

In a separate incident, Hussam Malah, a 30-year-old man, was killed by Israeli special forces late Wednesday night when he was in his shop in the Tulkarm refugee camp.

Faisal Salama, head of the Popular Committee for Tulkarm Camp Services, told Xinhua that the Israeli force infiltrated the camp in two vehicles with Palestinian license plates, and withdrew immediately after killing Malah.

In a statement, Hamas mourned Malah, saying he was a local leader of its military wing Al-Qassam Brigades in Tulkarm. "Assassinations will not weaken the resolve of our resistance and will not break the will of our people to embrace the resistance and support it in all cities, camps and villages" of the West Bank, Hamas said.

Israeli state-owned Kan TV news reported that Israeli forces killed a senior leader of Hamas in Tulkarm, who was planning to carry out operations against Israel.

The Palestinian death toll by Israeli gunfire and bombing in the West Bank since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 766, including 166 children, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
