LONDON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Labour Party government unveiled its first budget on Wednesday, planning to raise taxes by 40 billion pounds (51.9 billion U.S. dollars) a year.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves delivered her budget statement in the House of Commons. This is the Labour Party's first budget since returning to power in July this year for the first time in 14 years. ■
