ISLAMABAD, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Ten troops were killed and three others injured when terrorists stormed a check post in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, official sources said on Friday.
The incident happened in the Dera Ismail Khan district of the province, where the militants fired at the paramilitary troops Frontiers Corps' check post late Thursday night, the sources told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attackers fled the scene following the incident.
A heavy contingent of security forces reached the site after the attack to capture the fleeing terrorists.
The injured troops have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
Banned terror group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack, the sources added. ■
