SINGAPORE, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's manufacturing production rose 9.8 percent year-on-year in September, according to data released by the Economic Development Board Friday.
Supported by the supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients and higher production of biological products, biomedical manufacturing led the increase with a 62 percent year-on-year growth last month.
The production of precision engineering, general manufacturing, chemicals, and electronics also recorded growth in September.
Meanwhile, transport engineering output decreased by 1.9 percent year-on-year. Production for the transport engineering cluster contracted 9.4 percent from January to September compared to a year ago. ■
