RIYADH, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia announced Tuesday that the 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) to be held in Riyadh in October is expected to generate 28 billion U.S. dollars in deals.
FII Institute CEO Richard Attias made the announcement during a press conference, noting that the event will function as a conduit for communication among entrepreneurs and startups from across the globe.
Attias told Xinhua that top business officials from China will also participate in the event.
"We give a voice to Chinese entrepreneurs and want to facilitate dialogue between the West and the East. The Chinese delegates will highlight how they lead in sectors such as solar energy and AI," he said.
Dubbed "Davos in the Desert," the FII conference is the largest international investment and innovation forum in the Middle East, attracting a large number of political and business leaders every year.
The event aims to identify effective solutions across various domains, including global connectivity, mining, AI, health tech, sports, circular economy, and other key areas. ■
