KABUL, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have dismantled an eight-member gang of thieves in the capital Kabul, police headquarters said in a statement on Monday.
The thieves were attempting to steal money from a cashier, when police launched an operation and arrested them on the outskirts of Police District 11 of the city, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said that police have apprehended 22 people on the charge of involvement in criminal activities in the vicinities of Kandahar, Nimroz, Laghman, Balkh, Helmand, and Ghazni provinces.
Most of the detainees were involved in murder, theft, and carrying arms illegally, the ministry said, adding that the suspects were taken to concerned departments for investigation and possible legal process. ■
