SANAA, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Friday, residents reported.
The strikes hit a Houthi military site in the heart of the city, leading to huge explosions that shook the whole city, eyewitnesses said, adding ambulances were seen rushing to the targeted site.
The capital city has been under the control of the Houthi group since late 2014 when the group forced the internationally recognized government out of the capital in a civil war. ■
