YINGKOU, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- On Duntai Mountain, located beside National Highway 228 in Bayuquan District, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, stands the northernmost lighthouse in China -- Taizishan Lighthouse. This 21-meter-tall lighthouse has witnessed Bayuquan's transformation from a small fishing village into an important cargo port.

Wang Hong'an, a lighthouse keeper, has worked here for 21 years.

Modern navigation technology has gradually shifted towards digitalization, but traditional lighthouses remain preserved as navigational aids.

Wang is responsible for checking the rotation and illumination of the lights, keeping the lampshade clean, and monitoring the operation of the light control system while carefully recording parameters.

"As long as the lighthouse is shining, sailors on the ships entering and leaving Bayuquan Port can feel safe. It's my duty," Wang said.
