MOSCOW -- Russia's armed forces have taken control of the town of Ugledar (or Vuhledar) in Ukraine's Donetsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday.
"As a result of decisive actions by the Vostok (east) troop group, the settlement of Ugledar was liberated," the ministry said in a statement. (Russia-Ugledar-Ukraine)

DHAKA -- The Bangladeshi interim government will hold a dialogue on reforms with the major political parties on Saturday.

BERLIN -- A shooting incident in the southwestern German town of Goeppingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, left one person dead and two others injured on Wednesday night.

JERUSALEM -- Israel's military announced on Thursday that Rawhi Mushtaha, head of the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip, was killed in a bombing in the Palestinian enclave about three months ago.
The military said that Mushtaha was the "right-hand man and one of the closest associates" of Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader, and was considered the most senior figure in the Hamas political bureau. (Israel-Hamas-Conflict) ■
