MOSCOW -- Russia's armed forces have taken control of the town of Ugledar (or Vuhledar) in Ukraine's Donetsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday.

"As a result of decisive actions by the Vostok (east) troop group, the settlement of Ugledar was liberated," the ministry said in a statement. (Russia-Ugledar-Ukraine)

JERUSALEM -- Israel's military announced on Thursday that Rawhi Mushtaha, head of the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip, was killed in a bombing in the Palestinian enclave about three months ago.
