KIEV, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said on Tuesday he formally asked the government to oust three deputy defense ministers and the state secretary of the ministry.
In his request to the cabinet, Umerov requested the dismissal of Deputy Defense Ministers Stanislav Haider, Oleksandr Serhiy and Yuriy Dzhygyr, as well as State Secretary Liudmyla Darahan.
Umerov did not give the exact reasons for the request, but stressed that all the processes within the ministry must be transparent and under control during martial law.
"Any external or internal attempts to influence these processes are unacceptable. In this context, personnel changes are being carried out," he said. ■
