AMMAN, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Jordan sent a second plane with humanitarian aid to Lebanon on Sunday, as reported by the state-run Petra news agency.
The aid was delivered by the Jordanian armed forces using a C130 transport aircraft to the Lebanese Army to help those in need. This follows an earlier shipment on Sept. 18, which included about 8 tons of medical and food supplies.
This delivery comes amid increased Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon that began on Monday, marking the most intense military action in the region since 2006.
These events follow clashes that started on Oct. 8, 2023, when Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel in support of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, leading to retaliatory fire and airstrikes from Israel in southeastern Lebanon. ■
