ZARANJ, Afghanistan, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Police have discovered and destroyed a drug processing lab in Khashrod district of western Afghanistan's Nimroz province, district police chief Mawlawi Ghulam Sakhi Sadeq said Saturday.
During the operation on Thursday evening, police discovered and burned a huge quantity of the objects used in manufacturing heroin, the official added.
No one has been arrested, the official said, adding that efforts are underway to locate and bring to justice those involved in the illegal business.
Three days ago, police destroyed a drug lab in the northern Badakhshan province. ■
