CARACAS, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The United States has relied mainly on "psychological warfare" to attack Venezuela, President Nicolas Maduro said Thursday.
"The hybrid, multidimensional war against Venezuela, directed by the United States of America and the imperial power of the United States, has psychological warfare as its main element," the president said in a speech marking the 19th anniversary of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
Today psychological warfare "has greater firepower because it has social media," in addition to traditional media, he said.
As part of its campaign, Washington imposes its narrative globally, but there is still "an immense majority" of people and governments worldwide that support Venezuela, said Maduro.
He also denounced the ongoing "electrical war" against Venezuela.
"We have suffered electrical attacks on the transmission systems in recent days, which have been immediately replaced by the heroic work of the country's electrical workers," he said. ■
