COLOMBO, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said on Thursday that a committee will be established to approve foreign-aid projects within three months.
He noted that the move would enable an early implementation of foreign- aid projects, particularly those financed by the Asian Development Bank and other foreign loans, which need to be expedited.
The president also assured that the country currently has sufficient fuel reserves to meet consumption demands, emphasising the importance of maintaining these reserves to ensure an uninterrupted fuel supply.
He highlighted the urgency of speeding up rural development projects and implementing a system to direct funds to villages, as this approach would significantly bolster the rural economy. ■
