BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tian'anmen Square and Chang'an Avenue in Beijing have been decorated with flower displays ahead of the upcoming National Day holiday.
A festive 18-meter-high flower basket has been installed in Tian'anmen Square and 10 flower beds of various styles have been set up along Chang'an Avenue, according to Liu Mingxing with the Beijing Municipal Forestry and Parks Bureau.
Other floral decorations, including over 20,000 flower boxes, have been installed across the city to celebrate the holiday that starts on Oct. 1.
Adorning Tian'anmen Square and Chang'an Avenue is a prominent highlight of the annual National Day celebrations and a tradition that has been carried on for 40 years. ■
