JERUSALEM, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Israel announced that its airstrike on Beirut on Friday killed senior Hezbollah official Ibrahim Akil, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The IDF described Akil as the head of Hezbollah's military operations and the acting commander of the elite Radwan Force. Hezbollah has not yet confirmed the report. ■
