VALLETTA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Maltese Foreign Minister Ian Borg was appointed deputy prime minister on Tuesday, according to the government gazette.
Later in the day, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela told journalists that Borg would also retain his responsibilities as foreign minister.
