MEXICO CITY, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chilean striker Victor Davila has joined Club America after parting ways with Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow, the Liga MX club said on Sunday.
America announced the signing with a brief statement on social media, without revealing financial details or how long the contract would run.
Local media reported the deal was worth 7.5 million euros (around 8.3 million U.S. dollars).
"Welcome to the biggest club in Mexico, Victor Davila," the Mexico City-based club said. "The time has come to make history together."
Davila is no stranger to Mexican football, having previously had spells with Liga MX clubs Necaxa, Pachuca and Leon. The 26-year-old has been capped 15 times and scored three goals for Chile's national team.
America are currently 12th in the Liga MX standings with just nine points from seven games, 10 points behind leaders Cruz Azul. ■
