KABUL, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Reconstruction of 25 school buildings has begun in west Afghanistan's Herat province, according to the Ministry of Education.
The buildings will be reconstructed at a cost of about 290,000 U.S. dollars on the outskirts of Herat city, the provincial capital, and in districts of the province, the ministry said.
Around 10.9 million children are studying in over 18,000 schools throughout the war-battered country, official data showed. ■
