TIRANA, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Switzerland will continue to provide support to help Albania reform its finance system at the local level, according to an agreement signed here by the two sides on Friday.
According to the agreement, during the period of 2024-2028, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs will provide a total amount of about 4.5 million euros (5 million U.S., dollars) to Albania. The funds will mainly be used to help Albania to strengthen local income management systems, as well as establish effective systems for auditing and financial reporting.
"All these objectives are fully in line with the government's priorities for the modernization of public finances at the local level, as well as for the increase and consolidation of financial autonomy," said Albania's Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj. ■
