GAZA -- The Israeli army said on Tuesday that it has killed Mahmoud Hamdan, commander of Hamas's Tel al-Sultan Battalion, in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah.
Drone surveillance detected several Hamas cells, which were then attacked by the Israeli air force, and during the raid, Hamdan, together with three additional company commanders from the same battalion, was killed, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement on social media platform X. RAMALLAH -- Israeli authorities on Tuesday reopened a major crossing between the West Bank and Jordan in both directions after two days of closure, according to Palestinian sources.

ADEN, Yemen -- The Houthi group in Yemen reported on Tuesday that an airstrike, allegedly carried out by U.S. and British forces, has resulted in casualties at a school in the southwestern province of Taiz.
According to the Houthis-controlled Masirah TV, an airstrike targeting Al-Janad School in the Taiziyah district of Taiz province resulted in casualties among female students. The Houthis did not release specific numbers of those killed or injured. (Yemen-U.S. Coalition-Airstrike) ■
