SHANGHAI, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Shanghai L+SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort, which contains the world's largest indoor ski facility, went operational in Shanghai on Friday.
The integrated sports-entertainment-tourism resort is one of the key cultural and tourism projects at the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The facility spans about 350,000 square meters.
Its indoor ice-and-snow theme park alone covers 98,828.7 square meters, making it the world's largest indoor ski facility. The park features a vertical drop of nearly 60 meters indoors, with three professional ski slopes totaling nearly 1,200 meters in length, as well as a snow entertainment area.
Apart from the indoor ski park, the resort also has a water park, which offers nearly 20 water-experience activities, both indoors and outdoors.
The Shanghai L+SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort began presale ticketing on Aug. 8, and as of Friday, it has sold over 100,000 tickets in total.
It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the Lin-gang Special Area will receive 15 million tourists annually, said the area's management committee. ■
