BAMIYAN, Afghanistan -- A total of 17 commuters were injured, some in critical condition, as a mini-bus turned turtle in central Afghanistan's Bamiyan province on Wednesday, said the provincial police office on Thursday.
Blaming reckless driving for the mishap, the office added that the accident took place due to the carelessness of the driver in Yakawland district on Wednesday evening, and all the injured had been taken to hospital. (Afghanistan-Road Accident)

VLADIVOSTOK -- Construction of a high-speed railway linking the Russian cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg is set to begin in September, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev said at the 9th Eastern Economic Forum on Wednesday.

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka's navy arrested four Indian fishermen for poaching in the country's territorial waters on Wednesday, the navy said in a statement.
