MANILA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' debt soared to 15.69 trillion pesos (roughly 276.84 billion U.S. dollars) as of July, 1.3 percent higher than that at the end of June, the Philippines' Bureau of Treasury said Tuesday.
The bureau attributed the increase to the net issuance of both domestic and external debt.
The bureau said 31.46 percent of the total debt stock was sourced externally, while 68.54 percent was domestic debt.
Since the beginning of this year, external debt has increased 7.4 percent, the bureau said. ■
