RAMALLAH/JERUSALEM -- At least nine Palestinians were killed and 11 others injured during a large-scale Israeli military operation in northern West Bank on Wednesday, said the Palestinian Health Ministry and the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.

JOHANNESBURG -- Ten foreigners were killed when a bus they were traveling in overturned in South Africa's Limpopo Province Tuesday night, local authorities said Wednesday.

LONDON -- The amount of cannabis seized from smugglers at airports in the United Kingdom (UK) so far this year is already three times the total for 2023, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said on Wednesday.

According to the NCA, an estimated 15 tons of cannabis have been seized so far this year, compared to approximately five tons in all of 2023. This also represents "a staggering increase" from the two tons seized in 2022, the agency said. (UK-Border-Drug Smuggling)

JERUSALEM -- The Israeli Air Force killed a senior militant of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement on Wednesday near the Syria-Lebanon border, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.
