CAIRO, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The entrepreneurial sector constitutes seven percent of foreign investments in the Egyptian market, a Cairo-based think tank said in a report on Monday.
Entlaq, a think tank studying the entrepreneurial landscape in Egypt, released the report based on data from 18 sectors in the country.
The entrepreneurial sector provided 50,000 direct job opportunities and 250,000 indirect jobs in the first half of 2024, said Mohamed Ihab, executive manager of Entlaq, at the ceremony to release the report.
According to Ihab, Egypt is now ranked second in the sector in the Middle East and Africa, up from sixth place in 2023.
Ihab added that even though the entrepreneurial sector in Egypt is very promising, some policies are still required to boost growth and achieve better economic revenues. ■
