ISLAMABAD, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Fourteen security personnel and 21 terrorists were killed in operations in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, the Pakistan army said on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said that the terrorists attempted to conduct numerous heinous activities in Balochistan aimed at disrupting the peaceful environment and development of the province by targeting mainly innocent civilians.
The terrorists have launched attacks in various areas of Balochistan, especially in Musa Khel, Kalat, and Las Bela districts, killing and injuring many, said the ISPR statement.
The terrorists stopped a bus in Musa Khel district and targeted innocent citizens working in Balochistan, killing 23 passengers, it said.
In the following clearance operations, security forces and law enforcement agencies killed 21 terrorists.
However, during the operations, ten security forces' soldiers and four personnel of law enforcement agencies also lost their lives, said the ISPR.
Clearance operations are being conducted and the perpetrators and facilitators of the heinous acts targeting innocent civilians will be brought to justice, it added.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan remained determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, said the Pakistani military. ■
