MOSCOW, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry announced Thursday that it has captured the settlement of Mezhove in the Donetsk region.
"As a result of successful actions by units of the Center group of forces, the settlement of Mezhove in the Donetsk People's Republic was liberated," the ministry said in a statement.
The village of Mezhove is located between Avdiivka, which was captured by Russia in February, and the logistics hub of Pokrovsk, toward which Russian forces are advancing. ■
